This successful e-commerce scale-up was founded by entrepreneurs who had already built a tech unicorn from the ground up. With enormous funding and potential, they have already conquered the Netherlands with their innovative product. The plan is to scale up considerably this year and conquer Europe and you can become a crucial link in this! Within the international engineering culture of this medium-sized tech scale-up, autonomy is the gold standard. As an engineer you are given the freedom to work remotely (or at the office in Amsterdam), and you can co-decide on architecture, design, and tech stack choices and discuss directly with the founders. Due to the unique combination of stability, freedom, and variety, engineers work here for an average of 7 years!Tech stack So you can introduce new tech yourself and the current stack is certainly modern with: , GCP, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, Neo4J, and Kafka within an event-driven architecture.

Your role: Senior Backend Engineer Amsterdam
As a Senior Backend Engineer Amsterdam you can add end-to-end value (backend, Cloud/DevOps, testing, observability, architecture & design) within multidisciplinary development teams. Due to the enormous number of requests for the popular SaaS product, one of your challenges is to scale up considerably, so that you are ready to conquer Europe! Other challenges you can sink your teeth into include building brand new microservices, synchronizing with Neo4J, achieving 24/7 availability, and improving integration with GCP. And if you think it's cool to add value within the front-end, this is certainly possible.

Growth opportunities
Since the development team is going to grow considerably this year, a lead role will soon become available for you to take (if you want)! You also get the freedom to broaden yourself horizontally (e.g. towards Cloud/DevOps) and roles such as engineering manager and architect become available as the company grows.

What is being asked?

• 4+ years of professional backend engineering experience
• Professional experience with
• Experience with Cloud and Microservices
• A technical bachelor and/or master or a comparable level of thinking
• Experience with GCP is a plus
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD Automation, and Kubernetes are pluses
• Experience with Neo4J and Elasticsearch is a plus
• Experience working within a start/scale-up environment is a big plus
• Experience with architecture & design is a plus
• Experience introducing new tech is a plus

What is offered?

• Between €70,000 and €80,000 gross per year based on knowledge and added value
