As a System Engineer - Managed Services, you will work closely with our team to support and maintain applications and ICT infrastructure for our customers. You will balance the management and updating of applications and hardware, in both on-premise and cloud environments. Wat ga jij doen?

As a System Engineer - Managed Services, you will mainly support and maintain the ILIAS applications and underlaying ICT infrastructure of our customers. In consultation with the Services Managers, you look for the appropriate balance for the management and updating of the ILIAS applications and the ILIAS Server software and hardware. The data center can be an on-premise or cloud solution. You can rely on a broad knowledge of the standard ICT Infrastructure solutions.

Being our System Engineer in the Netherlands means:

• Supporting the on-premise data center environment at our customers in the operations phase. In consultation with ILIAS Services Managers, you look for the appropriate balance for the management and updating of the data center at our customers. You can rely on a broad knowledge of the standard ICT Infrastructure solutions.
• Participating in the preparation and installation of our ICT infrastructure solutions and ILIAS applications at customers. 
• Planning and performing upgrades of the ILIAS applications and the ILIAS Server software and hardware in consultation with the Services Managers. 
• Working closely with ILIAS Technology Team on the security and connectivity solution.
• Troubleshooting and resolving incidents and/or problems in 1st and 2nd line, and planning risk mitigation.
• Registering and follow-up of support request to the ILIAS technology team and suppliers (HP, HPE, DELL, etc).
• Conducting regular reviews of the systems & generate reports on efficiencies and improvement areas
• Keeping knowledge of on-premise ICT infrastructure solutions up to date, therefore it is important that you are willing to train yourself and obtain certifications in this technology. 
• Maintaining and growing expertise in technologies such as Microsoft Windows Server, HPE Storage, VMware/Hyper-V virtualization, HPE/Aruba Networking, Oracle database, Oracle Weblogic, MS SQL Server, etc.
• Maintaining and upgrading existing system documentation as required.
• You are prepared to be stand-by (on-call) to provide support in case of very high priority incidents.

Wat wij vragen?

• Bachelor’s Degree with a strong IT focus, with 2-3 years of relevant work experience
• Experience within an ICT ITIL or Managed Services environment
• Understanding of information technology disciplines, including applications, infrastructure, and databases
• The ability to gain a NATO clearance
• A background or understanding of aviation and the military environment is a plus
• You enjoy working in a multi-cultural environment
• You enjoy working in a team, but you also have a high degree of independence 
• Excellent customer facing English communication skills, both written and oral (interpersonal)
• You are well organized and work meticulously
• You are very eager to learn and passionate about the various ICT Infrastructure solutions
• You don't give up when looking for a solution to a persistent problem
• You are willing to undergo 3 months initial training in Belgium

Wat wij bieden?

• Permanent contract
• Gross monthly salary EUR 3000 to 4000
• Full-time is 40 hours per week, 4 days is also possible
• 8% holiday allowance
• Pension provision
• 25 vacation days, calculated pro rata for part-time
• 2 extra leave days after one year, an additional leave day added every 5 years
• Net phone allowance of EUR 30 per month for business use of own phone
• Public transport costs fully reimbursed and business kilometers reimbursed at 23 cents per kilometer
• Travel expenses abroad reimbursed with daily allowance/per diem
• Before employment, a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is required. After employment, a security investigation (NATO screening) will be initiated. Failure to obtain a NATO clearance is a termination clause in the employment contract.
