As a Data & AI Platform Architect you: 

• Co-write Solution Architectures, Positioning Papers and Target State Designs for Global Solutions. You drive, in cooperation with other professionals, direction setting for global hybrid solutions considering the technology platforms like Public (Azure) and Private (VMware) Cloud and SaaS. 
• Are in the driving seat for architecture runways, you co-create them together with the Infrastructure Platform- and Product Owners throughout the bank.   
• Are the ‘soon to be go-to-expert’ for architecture and design considerations. 
• Review Solution Architectures as a gatekeeper to make sure it’s compliant with our target state strategy direction going forward.
• Work with Business and IT colleagues to develop new or enhance existing services. This includes participating in discussions, planning and execution of PoC’s, equipment evaluation, cost analysis, and other relevant discussions. 
• Enjoy an informal atmosphere with plenty of room for fun and we’re ok with making mistakes, as long as we learn from them. 

As a Data & AI platform Architect you’ll be part of the Architecture & Platform Strategy department with around 35 other Platform IT Architects. A&PS is responsible for the overall design and architecture of ABN AMRO’s IT-Platforms. A&PS organized in Technology Clusters to give focus to ABN AMRO’s platform technology areas being: 

Platforms cluster, Products cluster, Enterprise Control Plane, Architecture Consultancy & Adoption Cluster and the Data & Integration Cluster. You will be part of the Data & Integration Cluster. 

Data & Integration Cluster is responsible for data platforms architecture including machine and Artificial Intelligence. D&I Architects write Target State Designs, Positioning Papers and create solution architecture for enterprise platforms addressing subjects like Data Management & Governance, Data Integration, ML & AI Ops. The architects ensure that such solutions follow well-architected framework best practices from security, privacy, network and cost management perspective. They continuously improve solution architecture by adding latest technologies and trends such as Lakehouse architecture and GenAI to power and deliver value in line with ABN AMRO's Data, Platform and Business Strategy. 

The A&PS department is part of the Platform & Technology business unit. P&T runs a standardized IT-landscape supporting all thousands of business applications. Key is flexibility to adopt new technology like cloud and support DevOps. P&T offers a wide range of self-service platform solution to the wider ABN AMRO organization. “Reliable, compliant & always on” are our core values. Within P&T we mainly work in an Agile and DevOps fashion. The A&PS clusters have their own backlog, prioritized by a Lead Domain Architect fulfilling the Product Owner role. 

As a Data & AI platform Architect you are an inspirator, you are aware of the new developments in the market on “Big Data” technologies, frameworks, AI and Data science. You have 2+ years of experience working in a complex environment with big data technologies, Lakehouse architecture, AI and Machine Learning Platforms. You have good understanding of data structures and different storage and database technologies in SQL/NoSQL. You have excellent understanding of public cloud preferably Azure and its services. 

Required skills:

• You are certified in Togaf, ArchiMate and preferably Azure Solution Architect Certification
• Experience and expertise in data platform design & architecture on public cloud platforms, preferably with Microsoft Azure
• Proficiency in Data Engineering best practices such as data pipelines, data modelling, database design, access management and security
• Knowledge and understanding of latest trends in Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning and data analytics. 
• You have good documentation skills using MS Office, PowerPoint. 

Nice to have skills: 

• Knowledge and experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Biceps etc.), network and security configurations in public cloud environment.
• Hands on experience on Data Engineering/Machine learning projects with Apache Spark.
• Knowledge in programming languages like SQL, Python or Java.
• You also might still be learning on some of the profile items.
