Are you a SeniorData Modeler, who is fascinated by the financial sector and eager to explore the world of banking products? This job offers the unique combination of working on content in a multidisciplinary team and being a senior data modeler together with data engineers, modelers and analysts. Together with data modelling, you will also guide the data engineers and manage stakeholders. Through your pivotal role, you will help us create value using data and accelerate the optimization of our processes. 

As a Senior Data Modeler your most of the time (80%) will be focused on gathering the requirements from stakeholders, translating them into conceptual, logical & physical data model, then sharing the knowledge with data engineers for development. Together with Data Modelling, your role will also involve data engineering (20%) in cases of quick turnaround. 
You will lead projects within the scope of your team and you will closely cooperate with the Product Owner of the team in setting and executing on the vision.  
 
In your role as an experienced data modeler, you will 
•    Analyse and translate business needs from the data analysts to the developers via long-term data models 
•    Evaluate existing data systems across different domains and look for improvements 
•    Working with development team to understand conceptual, business and technical data models and data flows 
•    Engage in complex long term projects, with focus on continuous delivery in small increments  
•    Be proactive in seeking opportunities to improve with regards to team, processes and data 
•    Work as a part-time data engineer when needed for quick turnaround 
•    Coach colleagues in their job and ensure that they grow their development/modelling craftmanship 
•    Host sessions with stakeholders to elevate knowledge on data modelling techniques 
•    Be happy to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams & promote teams working together at all levels 
•    Stay curious, ask enough questions to deep dive and not hesitate to change/ challenge the status quo 

•    Inclination for mentoring junior team members on hard and soft skills 

We are a Domain Data Store development team (Microsoft Azure data platform) that serves the Analytics CoE  and create business value from data for Transaction Banking products unit. We serve6 million Personal & Business Banking customers, by enabling  data analytics, data science and reporting for a vast product portfolio covering : accounts, payment cards, packages, savings, insurances, open banking APIs, trade finance, digital products like Apple Pay/ Google Pay etc. and associated Sales, business & risk management processes. We contribute significantly to the revenue of the bank by strengthening data driven decision making, also cater to different regulatory and operational topics, and we want to continue and improve on this path to Product Excellence . Our stakeholders apply business intelligence & (advanced) analytics to explore, research and gather valuable insights ; and we provide the data foundation and platform to perform these activities.

The domain data store team consists of 8 members (Data Engineers & modelers) and are based across the Netherlands and India. Do you think you are a fit? Check your qualifications : 

•    You are seasoned professional with 5+ years of work experience, with at least 3 years in data modelling field  
•    Proficiency in programming language such as SQL and Python  
•    Excellent understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and data modelling techniques  
•    Strong and clear communication skills in English (Dutch is a bonus) 
•    Experience in working well with multinational teams spread across countries  
•    Able to perform functional validation, testing and managing stakeholder's expectations; 
•    You have the skills to challenge your stakeholders and find out the "question behind the question” 
•    Great to have: Good understanding of cloud technology e.g. Azure Cloud Services
