When Momoyoga was first built, it was a backend-focused application with static pages and little fluff to keep things simple. But in recent years, we’ve grown significantly. Today, the balance has shifted toward a Vue-based TypeScript frontend, communicating directly with our private API. That’s why we need an experienced frontend developer, someone confident with today’s popular frameworks that now dominate the SaaS market, and skilled at turning a design into a functional, near pixel-perfect experience.

This is part of our broader goal: to evolve our product in the areas our customers expect and to make Momoyoga attractive to new users. Together with our product owner, designers, and developers, you’ll work on projects that directly shape our platform. Choosing the best solutions and approaches for each challenge. We’re our own customer in a way, so we define a planning and roadmap ourselves.

Momoyoga already holds a leading position in several European markets and continues to grow. Yoga professionals around the world use our platform to schedule classes and events, accept payments, and upload videos. But we’re not stopping there. There’s always room to improve existing features, and there’s a long list of feature requests. We also try to renew parts of the system regularly to make sure that everything stays maintainable, and fun to work on.

What am I going to do?

• Your main focus will be the Momoyoga application which powers our platform built using the Symfony and Vue frameworks.
• Expand our Vue frontend application written in TypeScript with new functionalities.
• Styling pages with SASS and other modern styling techniques using our own Design System.
• Expanding our Design System with new components and updating its styling where required.
• Help move more web functionalities over to our mobile applications in a hybrid way.
• Extend our private API built using API Platform to power new frontend and app-driven features.
• Work on new features in collaboration with the product team, or improve existing functionality to expand them or make them more easy to use.
• Refactor existing bits and features, to make them faster, more powerful or easier to use. Don’t be afraid to break things if the improvements are clear!
• You will have the opportunity to collaborate on our mobile app and backend.
• Work on your own projects and improvements during our monthly cooldown week.
• You’ll have the opportunity to invest in your own knowledge with meetups and conferences.

Who do I work together with?

• Be part of a close-knit and international team (+/-16 people)
• You will be a part of our Product team, working as an equal developer, and will work together closely with the product owner, designers and other developers. You’ll also be in direct contact with the Customer Success team.
• As Momoyoga is still relatively small, you’ll basically work with everyone from time to time. Many weekly and monthly events are all-team gatherings; you will learn from everyone in the company.

Gevraagd

We’re looking for a confident developer who can make a real impact on the team, which means that some prior experience is required:

• You know JavaScript and/or TypeScript inside-out and feel comfortable with its features, and how to find the proper documentation online.
• Have a thorough understanding of frontend frameworks and libraries, with a BIG pre on the Vue Framework.
• Know how to convert a design into a functional user experience. Have experience with SASS, CSS and functional reactive development.
• Don’t shy away from understanding backend code, or even aim to contribute to it.
• Be accustomed with a containerised development environment. At least know what a Docker container is and how to use it.
• Preferably have experience with writing tests so you don’t have to spend too much time fixing your own regressions, because that's no fun!

Of course, we’re also looking for someone with soft-skills as well:

• Do you have a passion for online software, ideally with experience at a SaaS company?
• Can you collaborate effectively with our Customer Success team?
• Are you able to work independently, but also know when to be a team player?
• Are you flexible, can you handle change being our daily business?
• Do you work towards measurable goals? Can you balance quality and performance?
• Can you manage your freedom and time effectively, whether working from home or at the office?

Aanbod

Is this role only full-time? Can I work remotely?
The role has a flexible amount of hours to fill in, between 32 and 40 hours. This can be adjusted over time when the needs from any of both ends change.
It can be based on-site in Tilburg (the Netherlands) and from home. Because we're a relatively small team, working all in one place from time to time helps us go faster and solve complex problems together. This means we’d like you to be able to come to the office regularly if the occasion calls for it. Starting projects together or celebrating milestones. We feel this is part of our company culture and increases the joy of working on Momoyoga together. For this reason, we’re primarily looking for someone who lives within a radius of a maximum of 100km from Tilburg.
