As a software integration engineer you are member of the system integration team and responsible for intake, deploying, integrating and testing of the High Level Control (HLC) software within the Airports Platform development program

Development Center Software (DCS) develops, delivers and maintains High Level Control (HLC) software. This software implements business logic in material handling systems and forms the part of our systems that interact with the users. It assists the customer in doing operational and strategic planning, dashboarding and analysis. It also provides workstation and operator access on the work floor. DCS provides HLC software for all industry units within Vanderlande and this software is used within hundreds of sites worldwide.

As a software integration engineer you are member of the system integration team and responsible for intake, deploying, integrating and testing of the High Level Control (HLC) software within the Airports Platform development program. The software includes controls for logistic transport, communication with external systems, planning, monitoring, data analysis and simulation. Basically, a software integration engineer is an all-rounder, who takes the lead in getting new HLC software deliveries (including all new features) working in the platform integration & test environment. 

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Actively participating in the definition of platform integration approach

  • Equipping test environments (prepare, build-, and configure the test environment)

  • Creating and maintaining (project-like) test configurations for the software modules

  • Deploying and verification of software modules in a platform test & integration environment

  • Independently executing and analysing (manual + automated) system integration scenarios

  • Setting up and maintaining a CICD pipeline by automation of deployment and test routines

  • Analyzing, troubleshooting and fixing problems with a strong analytical view

  • Processing integration increments in a structured way with built-in quality

  • Independently solving work related problems within the own operational work environment

  • Effectively and closely collaborating with software development teams


Job Requirements
  • Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant technical field
  • At least 3 years software development and/or integration testing experience with focus on quality and results in a representative technical environment
  • Linux / Docker/ Kubernetes / Kafka / KeyCloak / HELM is an advantage
  • JSON / REST / XML&XSD / HTTP(s) / Oracle(SQL) is an advantage
  • Experience and affinity with Requirements Management, Change Management, Version Control, Test Management and CI tools, especially Polarion, Jira, Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo and Artifactory
  • Enthusiastic result-driven professional
  • Proactive, pragmatic and hands on attitude
  • Committed team player
  • Agile mindset, experience with working in a Scrum/Kanban/SAFe team is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills with good command of the English language
  • Relevant knowledge and experience about the Baggage Handling business domain is an advantage

Period of deployment    : asap for 12 months
Type of contract    : Temp to perm (1 year temp, then perm)
Weekly deployment    : 32 hours a week   
Work location        :  Veghel       
Remote working    : It is possible to work from home for max. 2 days a week.
Maximum rate        : € 60,00 - € 72,00 competitive  
Working distance        : living within a radius of 60 minutes from (requirement of the customer)
