It is essential to our customers that the complex systems builds, stay operational for as long as possible. This is only possible with excellent support, keeping the systems in the best possible condition and getting the system back online quickly in the event that it breaks down. The training department is the crucial link between the development department and the thousands of colleagues working at customer sites worldwide performing this excellent support. The training department develops and delivers technical training through 1000’s of training events yearly worldwide. Most trainees are from the customer support and manufacturing and planning sectors. About 10% of the trainees are customer engineers. The training department has training facilities in Veldhoven and Taiwan.

Position in the Organization
As a Training Developer/Instructor you are a member of the department Training Development & Delivery NPI (~25 employees), which is part of the Training Department (~50 employees worldwide). NPI stands for New Product Introductions. You are responsible for the development and design of high quality learning material within the NPI-environment.

As a Training Developer/Instructor you will be responsible for development and delivery of technical training to a variety of service and technical employees and external customers, to ensure that they have the required skills and knowledge to optimize the use and performance of products and associated equipment.

Job Description
Within our department you work in one or more projects supporting the learning needs of our (internal) customers. You are a team player, communicate proactively, have a healthy business sense and are on top of new opportunities which add value to our core business. Being in touch with several departments (e.g. Development & Engineering, Manufacturing & Planning, Application Business Support, Industrial Engineering) you translate the latest technical developments into complete training packages. Training content needs to be delivered to our local service and applications teams typically before the systems are shipped to our customers. Sometimes you will deliver training at local sites. The Training Department is exploring new technologies and methods to improve our own effectivity and the efficiency of our products. You are invited to work with us: think, prove success and implement.

Educational Level
• Higher Technical College or (Technical) University (M.Sc./Ph.D.) in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Computer Science.

Personal Skills
• Proven affinity with or expertise in education and/or didactics.
• Analytic, abstract thinking, good communication skills, initiative, independent, sharing knowledge, stress tolerance and teamwork.
• Excellent presentation skills in English.
• Excellent authoring skills in English.
• Ability to capture and transfer knowledge in an effective manner is a must.

Expert and trace tool urgently needed for diagnosis. Where are the nearest ones and when can they be here? Forward 3 hours 13 minutes, Austin, Texas. Just been informed by customer that location for next machine delivery is changing to Europe. How fast can we re-plan and get the team on-site for a pre-delivery inspection? Contact Training Department to setup extra training sessions to train the local engineers next week. Back to Kiheung. Engineer able to do diagnosis is in Shanghai installing our next NXT. If you can get him linked up to the machine remotely, the diagnosis can be done within 90 minutes. Is he on the customer's 'Approved' list or do we need to get special permission from the shift leader? Dresden, Germany. Live test of new Preventive Maintenance schedule aligned with track and laser suppliers. Everything worked fine, just a few remarks. How fast can we update our procedures for worldwide roll-out? Training Department contacted to incorporate the changes in the training content and share the latest experiences real-time globally with the local knowledge managers. Meanwhile in Kiheung: Remote diagnosis completed. Intermittent fault in PCB, part ordered from local warehouse. Automatic replenishment already initiated. Trace tool shipment stopped just before the plane left Singapore. System expected to be back up at 07:45 after recovery sequence. WIP rerouting discussed with shift leader before going home. Problem-Cause-Solution data will be in the PCS-database at 12:00h for all engineers worldwide. The Marketing Department shared information showing several additional shipments to certain Asian regions. In order to get the local teams up to speed on the latest technology before the new systems arrive Training Department has to respond immediately to this change in demand.
