(Jr.) Automation Engineer

We are looking for expansion of our AT department with a (Jr.) Automation Engineer.

The department:
The IT & AT department is responsible for the implementation, support and maintenance of computerized systems and GxP related hardware/software within the site. (GxP means working in a regulated environment, according to specific guidelines and procedures.)

Specific tasks:
The (Jr.) Automation engineer will be responsible for implementing, supporting and maintaining (building and process) automated (GxP) systems (eg. PLC, BAS, Scada, InBatch and MES) for the Leiden Site in accordance with cG(a)MP requirements. He/She will drive innovation, apply best practices, show accountability and efficiency in the execution of his/her work.

Responsibilities will be:
• Support and maintain local applications such as Siemens S7 (PLC), Priva TC (BAS), Wonderware (Scada/InBatch), Werum Pas-X (MES) and local GXP infrastructure;
• Acts in a troubleshooting role to find the root cause and propose a solution;
• Provide 24/7 support to operations for automated (GxP) systems;
• Program and/or configure the automated (GxP) systems as required for new applications, modifications and projects to existing applications where required and approved;
• Develop and maintain automated (GxP) systems Life Cycle documentation;
• Develop (commissioning) protocols, test plans and reports and documentation to implement, maintain, operate and validate of automated (GxP) systems;
• Manage BI/CI modifications ensuring that the User Requirements Specifications are defined; the planning and all the applicable JBV objectives are met;
• Manage vendors, subcontractors, and other automated engineers as assigned;
• Assist in the training of other JBV personnel with respect to computerized systems operation;
• Develop and maintain all automated (GxP) systems related SOP’s;
• Is familiar with the J&J Process Excellence tools.

Functie eisen

Function requirements:

Minimum MBO – HBO Educational level;

Knowledge of the application software and automation infrastructure concerned;

-Jr. Automation Engineer; Minimal 2 years experience. Beginning professional level;

-Automation Engineer; Minimal 4 years experience in IT, automation engineering and/or infrastructure in chemical; and/or pharmaceutical industry and familiar with Good Automated Manufacturing Practices

Familiar with “ Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMP)”;

Ability to fluently speak, read and write English.
