There is a lot of talk about smart cities. For WeCity it’s more than just technology and data. Every solution must contribute to more livable, sustainable and inclusive cities. To achieve this goal, collaboration with and trust between all stakeholders is key. Since everything is connected, managing multiple different solutions in public space is a challenge: who owns, stores or validates the data, what service agreements are in place and how to provide insight in interdependencies between solutions and stakeholders? That’s where WeCity comes in.

At WeCity we enable and facilitate the use of interoperable smart city applications, from any vendor. And we give trust to the users of these solutions. We do this with our open platform that connects all parties, processes and agreements. The aim of WeCity is to become the independent intermediary between suppliers and consumers of interoperable smart city solutions in public space. And you will get an important role in designing, developing and extending our WeCity platform. A platform that’s build upon open standards and acts as the foundation for the services we offer.

Functie-eisen

The requirements below are for both functions. Together with you we will assess your capabilities and how to divide tasks and responsibilities within the team. The developers in WeCity are responsible for designing, developing and implementing the different software components that WeCity uses for her platform. That implies that you:

• have experience with Agile/SCRUM, backlogs, sprints and tools like Jira. You are able to translate user stories into technical requirements;
• are taking care of compliance with development guidelines, (open) standards and best practices
• know how to design, develop and test API’s in Postman, configure them in our API-management solution (Gravitee) with plans/policies and know standards like the Open API Specification;
• are familiar with the TM Forum Open API’s, the FIWARE NGSI API and you know how to implement the (smart) datamodels;
• have in-depth knowledge of PostGreSQL databases;
• know (programming) languages like Java, Python, JSON, XML, Javascript, and frameworks like Vue, Angular or React;
• have experience with complex integration and security issues regarding data, applications, APIs, and devices across systems and organizations. You know how to create routing and mediation rules in our ESB (Apache Camel);
• are familiar with the software/applications that WeCity uses, like CMDBuild, Apache Camel, Hubspot and Gravitee;
• are able to clearly communicate technical information to users, team members and partners. You are able to provide insight in pro’s and cons of different architectural and technical solutions
• take the initiative to propose solutions that improve the WeCity platform in the areas of security, performance, privacy, ease of use and the technologies and tools used.
• take care of the implementation of new releases, including support for test- and security procedures and delivery/approval of documentation

Besides the requirements above, you are curious and studious. You follow new technical developments in the field of RPA, AI/ML, API-management, micro-services, CI/CD, etc. You are result oriented, collaborative, analytical, stress-resistant and quality orientated. You are allowed to work in the EU (we don’t sponsor Visa e.g. working permit). You speak and write fluent English and you are willing to learn Dutch.
