Function description Are you looking for a challenging position as a Senior Functional Application Manager as the next step in your career? Would you like to work at our versatile and dynamic hospital and contribute to our excellent patient care? Do you find it a challenge to steer, coordinate, take responsibility and take your colleagues with you to get better and better? Then we are looking for you!

The primary goal for us as Meander employees is to offer excellent and people-oriented patient care. The Meander core values are central to this: we are committed, expert and ambitious. The fact that we are successful in this is evident from our excellent results during the recent NIAZ audit, among other things. Your work contributes directly to the quality of care in the best hospital in the Netherlands.

The Informatisering & Automatisering (I&A) department consists of the ICT (approx. 30 permanent employees) and SPIRIT (approx. 10 permanent employees) teams. The mission of the I&A department is: To make the best possible use of ICT for effective and efficient operations within the Meander Medical Centre and the care network of which we are a part. We put our shoulders to the wheel every day with a very experienced, driven and united team and external advisors and suppliers. We are also working on strengthening decentralised EPD-ZIS expertise.

ICT is a spearhead in the hospital's innovation agenda. Within our hospital ICT landscape, we continuously develop and implement innovative and cost effective solutions.
Meander, unlike many other hospitals, has a strong influence on the development of its EPD-ZIS environment. You can play a pivotal role in this.

What are you gonna do?
You are responsible for the Application Management of our EPD and HIS, including the connection to our other care systems. You stimulate the optimal use of the applications both towards the end users, as well as towards your fellow functional administrators and decentralized application experts. You are the questioning point of the team, and the pivot between the team, the technical and decentralized colleagues and the management. You guarantee the continuity and safety of the systems. In addition, you carry out analyses to achieve improvements, e.g. with regard to management processes and management information.

As a Senior Functional Application Manager, you are the discussion partner for the user organisation, decentralised EPD-ZIS experts and administrators, your technical colleagues at team ICT and your information management colleagues at team SPIRIT, the suppliers, the MT of the I&A department, and project leaders.
You have an excellent knowledge of the content, analytical skills, skills in the various aspects of management, and are a real team player. You will be pragmatic and effective in all activities related to central application management. You will be dealing with the most important applications that are managed at I&A and that are crucial for the healthcare, the primary process in our hospital.
In addition to our electronic patient file (EasyCare's EPD) and the hospital information system (Nexus' HIS), you are also responsible for the links with the dozens of systems for diagnostics, medication, planning, operations, etc. that we use in-house.

Your tasks are broad lines of approach:
  • Provide content management and advice on application management and implement improvements;
  • supporting users, supervising the correct use of applications;
  • developing the cooperation with the (recently appointed) decentralised EPD-ZIS experts and managers;
  • testing, coordinating and implementing patches, new releases and new functionality (so-called EPD sprints);
  • managing and securing (new) system components, including management documentation;
  • Version, table and authorization management;
  • identifying risks and taking action on them;
  • Identifying and analysing possible improvements of applications and processes, including advising management on these;
  • participation in projects, including coordination of management projects;
  • supporting your colleagues to get better and better.
Standby shifts are part of this function, if necessary you have to be on location within a maximum of one hour.
