Who are we?
The Aa en Maas Water Board provides safe dikes, clean water and dry feet in the eastern part of the province of North Brabant. Climate change causes rising sea levels, higher peak river discharges and subsidence. These changes increase the risk of flooding in sensitive areas. And as a data expert, you can do something about that! As a digital transformer in water safety, you provide data on better risk assessments, accurate predictions and new possibilities to issue warnings, among other things.

Your team
You are part of the Flood risk management department from which the flood risk management projects are carried out. The team is a fun and special mix of approximately twenty employees with different disciplines, including digital experts, modelers, testers, environment managers and administrators and technical implementers. This composition forms a unique club of professional, open and informal colleagues. Together you share a love for data, technology, environment, soil and water. There is a great deal of commitment to water safety projects and all the risks associated with climate change.

What are you gonna do
?
All water safety projects and processes run on a data basis. Without careful data and calculations, we are unable to intervene in a timely manner in (threatening) situations. Think of floods or damage to agriculture, nature and the economy due to extreme drought. So you could say that your expertise saves lives and nature.
You make the digital transformation in our field visible through a range of actions, for example by initiating, tracking and implementing digital innovations such as digital twins and parametric dyke design. You will also contribute to the setting up and implementation of processes concerning information management of satellite data, soil data and measurements. In addition, you build, connect and maintain various databases for asset management applications.
In addition to being a technical specialist, you are also a knowledge broker and you share and advise on information about your specialism within the water board. You will indicate the development direction of projects or the field of digitisation and support the information management of Flood risk management projects. You are also innovative internally: the optimisation of working methods and processes is an important theme within Aa en Maas and you are actively involved in this by providing input and contributions to the information plan of the Flood risk management department.

What do we offer you
?
A gross annual salary of a maximum of € 72,648 for a working week of 36 hours (job scale 11), depending on education and experience. This includes an Individual Choice Budget (IKB), an allowance of more than 20% (including 8% holiday pay) on your gross annual salary to spend on fringe benefits yourself. For example, you can buy extra leave or have this amount paid out.

Een bruto jaarsalaris van maximaal € 72.648,- bij een werkweek van 36 uur (functieschaal 11), afhankelijk van opleiding en ervaring. Dit is inclusief Individueel Keuzebudget (IKB), een toeslag van ruim 20% (inclusief 8% vakantiegeld) op je bruto jaarsalaris om zelf te besteden aan secundaire arbeidsvoorwaarden. Zo kun je bijvoorbeeld extra verlof kopen of dit bedrag laten uitbetalen.
