Vacature Junior Data Scientist - Rotterdam

For Unilever we are searching for a temporary Data Scientist for the department Food Solutions. It is a fulltime position from 1st February until the end of July.
To be eligible for this position you need to have a valid working permit to work in the Netherlands, if you do not have this you need not respond.
Unilever Food Solutions (UFS) has traditionally been using account managers to engage with chefs of food serving establishments (restaurants, hotels, caterings, etc.). In recent years, the role of digital channels has significantly increased; using the right combination of both off- and online touchpoints has become essential in creating the perfect customer journey. Data Science is key when it comes to offering a custom-made experience for each customer. Data Science enables marketing and sales to offer each customer the right products and services. Using the best fitting touchpoint and incentive to convince the customer to take the deal.

We are looking for a junior data scientist whom has 1 to 2 years of relevant experience and is savvy in working with several data systems such as SQL, Python, Q and Spark. Do you have a sense for business and for technology? Are you open for learning new technologies and working with a state-of-the-art data science environment? Then you match this position!

• Bachelor or masters degree
• Knowledge and experience with SQL, Python, Q, Spark and predictive modelling
• Docker, Ubuntu, Command Line / Bash and Git are nice to have
• A great enthusiasm for deploying predictive models, but also for understanding the local requirements that need to be translated into business ruling

As a junior data scientist you will be part of a cross-functional team, with the assignment to develop algorithms and deploy these within the market.

• Read up and understand the available packages
• Create a script / list of packages that enables the set-up of the appropriate environment
• Create a pipeline that prepares the data and algorithm
• Implement the available algorithm
• Create a package that applies the appropriate business ruling that fits the algorithm to the specific market needs
• Managing Digital Campaigning, content, data analytics, sales operations and customer care
