Global Support Engineer

Purpose of the job
The Global IT support team is looking for a Global Support Engineer. The position will be based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and will report to the Global Support team manager.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a first line of support for everyday user questions on the usage of the applications, its abilities and problem solving.
- Develop and provide training on the usage of the applications and of any new features to the office personnel.
- Develop the necessary manuals for Greenpeace staff in order for them to make full use of the information systems.
- Help the NRO staff with advanced tasks that go beyond the standard user level knowledge.
- Act as a primary contact to the vendors for issues and change requests regarding the applications.
- Assist in the migration of data and office setup for new implementations of systems and technologies.
- Advisory role in the use of the applications and appliance of best practices.
- In extreme situations, judged by the team leader, work for a short period locally at the NRO office to solve problems or provide more help with the everyday work.
Skills and qualifications
- B.Sc. or University degree relevant to Business Informatics and/or comparable work experience/certification.
- Experience in providing end user support.
- Broad range of knowledge on different software applications.
- Ability to learn and support new applications quickly.
- Problem solving skills and good approach to end users.
- Excellent communication, advisory and analytical skills.
- Ability to explain technical issues to users in understandable language.
- Basic knowledge of CSS, HTML, Java script and PHP.
- Experience in training end users.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written and at least one other language
- Ability to / experience with an international and culturally diverse environment.
- Willingness to travel if required for the job.
- Ability to work independent and set own priorities.
- Marketing or fundraising experience is considered a plus
