Junior Web Application Developer

Peoplexs is SAAS solution provider for HR. For our office in Rijswijk (NL) we are looking for a Junior Web Application Developer.

We offer an exciting position in a dynamical work-environment. You are going to be part of an enthusiastic and international team that will offer you all the support and possibilities needed to develop yourself further. You will have your own responsibilities but also the possibility to forward and execute on your own ideas.

The Junior Software Application Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining our PeopleXS web-based applications. The Software Application Developer should also be able to successfully organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment. Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are important to have. The candidate should have a strong desire to learn and succeed and communicate effectively with other software developers and staff.

The Junior Software Application developer will go through our trainee-program, where we will teach you all you need to know about the development platform we use for our web-based solutions; ColdFusion, MySQL, HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery.

Responsibilities:
• Deliver new functionality and change requests for existing web-based software applications
• Complete tasks on time with high quality
• Take responsibility for issue resolution

Skills required:
• Experience with one or more web application development language, like Ruby, PhP, Java, etc.
•Understanding and previous use of SQL, HTML, CSS, Javascript.
• Must be an effective communicator, both verbally and in written form (English Language required).
• Team player and also be able to work as an individual.
• Familiarity with Web Standards.
• Ability to be flexible, self-motivated and detail-oriented.

Education:
• HBO IT or higher level technical education

It would be a plus if you already had some experience in:
• Software development life cycle experience
• Experience with OOP
• 2+ years of IT experience
• MySQL, SVN, XML, Linux, Apache
