Business Analyst – Management Information Portal Project
Location: The Hague
Salary: 34,000 – 42,500 Euros per year, dependent upon experience
Term: 12 months fixed term contract

The function of business analysis sits within a global Project Office team which is structured to help the organization proceed with changes to operational activities and to implement added value projects and programmes.

An opportunity has arisen for a Business Analyst to join the IB’s Management Information Portal project on a one year, fixed term contract. The Management Information Portal project will build on a number of Microsoft Sharepoint initiatives and will link closely with the Management Information project to provide managers and staff throughout the IB with access to a range of information and services via a ‘one stop shop’ portal.

Working and based in the Hague office, you will be joining a highly productive Project team and should expect to hit the ground running as you build up your internal knowledge of the IB and apply your true Business Analysis skill set to various activities.

You will actively engage with all staff and business representatives, work closely with external suppliers and all other relevant stakeholders throughout the organization.

The early stages of any change will require critical support from the business analyst as he/she works as part of the project team to ensure ideas and new ways of working are thoroughly understood by all stakeholders and that suitable recommendations and options can be presented to the organization.

Throughout the project lifecycle, the business analyst continues to be a key member of the project team to ensure business needs are analyzed, requirements are captured and managed effectively, options are evaluated, financial and business impacts are defined and that benefits are monitored and managed.

This post is suitable for an individual who has past experience working as a business analyst and has a proven track record of the interpretation and evaluation of complex business requirements and the delivery of successful solutions to the business. Experience of implementing Sharepoint or products with embedded workflow will be an advantage. You will need excellent communication, interpersonal, documentation and problem-solving skills combined with a considerable awareness of technology based products and services.

Main requirements
• Extensive experience working in a recent business analyst role.
• End to end experience of working aligned to development and project lifecycles.
• Professional accreditation held in business analysis (desirable).
• Relevant methodologies applied throughout business analysis activities.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills including ability to interpret financial data.
• Ability to address both technical and business requirements in solving problems.
• Experience of working within a project management framework and adhering to set deadlines.
• A detailed understanding of the IB’s strategic goals, objectives and organisation.
• Good awareness of trends and directions in technology with in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of software.
• Good awareness and knowledge of process engineering and optimization functions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
• Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Application of attention to detail and quality assurance of own work.
• Highly self-motivated and directed.
• Flexible approach to working within a global team and addressing the needs of business groups that are spread across multiple locations and time zones.
• Experience of implementing Sharepoint or products with embedded workflow will be an advantage.

Target start date: 1st March 2012

Location
The post will be based in The Hague, the Netherlands. The position will involve some international travel.
