Aim of the job
As Database/Application Manager you will ensure that systems software is meeting the needs of end-users through the use of portal and collaboration applications, online learning tools, and the student administration system. You will also ensure that the applications and databases are optimally deployed and configured in support of the School’s business processes.

In addition, you will provide training and documentation to RSM staff on the use of information resources, and assist and support RSM managers and directors in identifying and documenting business processes which can be improved upon through better utilization and enhancements to the RSM information resources. And you will provide database and user support for RSM’s online communities, online learning and student administration tools. You’re the intermediate between users and the supporting technology (SharePoint; PowerCampus; Blackboard)

As Database/Application Manager you will report directly to the ICT Manager. He/she works closely together with the ICT Manager, ICT staff, students, staff and faculty.

Education
Your educational level is comparable to the Dutch HBO level in ICT MSc desirable, knowledge of online learning and collaboration tools within a business or education environment, knowledge of SharePoint and Web 2.0 technologies

Experience/skills
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing database- driven applications;
• A minimum of 3 years’ extensive experience supporting and maintaining databases in MS SQL;
• Ability to communicate effectively and in a customer friendly manner in English and Dutch with all stakeholders by serving as an intermediate between users and technology;
• Ability to write and develop procedures, manuals, instructions and presentations;
• Ability to translate ICT systems developments into effective and efficient ICT proposals;
• Project management skills;
• Experience with social networking tools.

We offer
The position fits within salary range € 3.800 – € 4.200 (Scale 7). Ranking will be based on education and working experience. Furthermore the RSM has excellent secondary benefits with amongst others a fully paid pension by the employer.
