Manager Project Management Office
Salary: 45,000 - 60,000 Euros per year, dependent upon experience

The Manager leads and develops project management for the IB. (S)he provides strategic and tactical direction to aid successful delivery of projects and programmes globally, to help achieve the organizations strategic and business objectives.

• You will work with the Senior Leadership Team and the Portfolio Review Board to prioritise, evaluate and monitor projects and programmes;
• You will ensure that the IB implements best practice in the management of it’s projects and programmes;
• You will provide leadership, management and support to IB project managers globally, including direct line management of a team of Project Management Professionals;
• You will contribute to the Project Office group by aligning core functions and resources to the IB’s priorities and to globally position expertise to ensure that the organization receives high quality services and support.

The Project Office works with all IB staff, external suppliers, schools, examiners and teachers to strategically lead development throughout all areas of the organization. This is in order to drive consistency, enhance services, focusing on cost savings, return on investment and high quality standards.

Main requirements
• Degree level of education or equivalent;
• Recognised professional certification in project management, programme management and risk management;
• In-depth knowledge of a project methodology, for example PRINCE2, PMBOK, APMP;
• Minimum of 10 years experience in relevant project management environment;
• To include working within a Project Management Office (PMO);
• Significant experience and knowledge of managing large projects in a variety of contexts;
• Experienced people manager, with leadership qualities, preferably with global teams across different time zones;
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

1 January 2012

Location
The post will be based in The Hague, the Netherlands. The position will involve some international travel.
