Are you an experienced IP network designer with 5 years of experience with IP design (Cisco & Juniper) and implementation related roles? Do you want to to work for one of the biggest international Telco’s? Then we have the challenge for you!

What will you do:
You will be primarily involved in architecture and mid term planning of the network, network construction projects (design, configuration), product and network development, tactical performance management and traffic engineering, tooling, peering.
As specialist you are also involved in 3rd line support and problem-management and maintain a strong relation with our Network Operating Centre (NOC).
This job combines strategy and execution; it combines architecture and hands on.
Current projects with the department are a large upgrade of the total network, introduction of QoS in the backbone and implementation of end to end performance measurement of the backbone.

You will be part of a team of 25 designers and engineers. Your work is mostly project based. Typical contacts are product-managers, sales consultants, end customers and external providers/vendors. Consultative and organizing skills are key.

The department Design and Engineering is responsible for the architecture, construction and life-cycle management of the International IP/MPLS network (Eurorings) and for all IP/MPLS based Network Services (IP Transit, IPVPN, E -Line, E-LAN). We combine the typical telco apporach focused on maintanability, stability and performance with a flexible and lean and mean approach in adapting new technologies and services, short development projects and tailor made solutions for customers.

What we ask:
• An (technical) education at a Master-level.
• You are a strategist, an innovator, Ccmmunicator, Team player, Coach. You are known to take the lead and take full ownership.
• In depth knowledge and experience of IP / MPLS networks and services (e.g. IPv6,BGP,IS-IS,LDP,VPLS,CoS).
• Extensive experience with both Juniper and Cisco, JNCIE and CCIE is a pre.
• Unix knowledge is a pre. Perl scripting is a pre.
• For 3rd line support you will be in on a call duty schedule.
